On the 11th of July, 2024, Luzira Secondary School held its Executive Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting in the school library. The meeting brought together school administrators and a select group of teachers to discuss the school’s progress and future plans.

The PTA Chairperson, Mrs. Kiwanuka, opened the meeting with a warm welcome and expressed her appreciation for the dedication of the attending administrators and teachers. She highlighted the significant achievements of the past year and stressed the importance of ongoing collaboration.

Headmaster Ssenyimba Peter Hormisdas provided a detailed report on the school’s current state, noting improvements in academic performance and ongoing projects such as the new science lab and extracurricular programs. He attributed the successes to the efforts of the teaching staff and the supportive environment fostered by the school administration.

The financial report was presented by the school bursar, Mr. Jjunju, who detailed the past fiscal year’s income and expenditures and outlined the budget for the upcoming year. The report was met with approval, highlighting the prudent financial management of the school.

Ms. Oliaka Susan, head of welfare, presented new initiatives aimed at improving student well-being, including mental health awareness programs and enhanced counseling services. The initiatives received strong support from the attendees.

The meeting also included a lively discussion where teachers voiced their concerns and suggestions. The school administration took note of these valuable inputs and assured attendees that their concerns would be addressed promptly.

In his closing remarks, Headmaster Ssenyimba thanked all participants for their active involvement and constructive feedback, emphasizing the importance of strong partnerships among the school staff for the continued success and growth of Luzira Secondary School.
