The event was opened by praise and worship from the scripture union choir and the chapel choir who showed him the true image of Luzira secondary school, a God fearing school that puts God first in its day to day activities.

The day was graced by the Maganda dances from the school music dance and drama(MDD) club which made the day colorful.

The sermon of the day was delivered by Ven. Canon Moses Banja who reminded the students to be fearless, patient and careful in everything that they do.

The first reading was got from the book of Proverbs 4:6-9 “Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown.”

Students were told to listen and receive so that what they receive helps others in the day to day lives. He also reminded them that the church is praying for the candidates as well, the senior six candidates and the senior four candidates of this year and told them not to fear exams but exams should instead fear them where he read from Isaiah 41:10 (So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand). “Exams help us to go the next level” he said. He told them to be instructed by God and not any other person’s words for the Lord will always help and restore when all others have left. God is all in to help you as long as you fear and respect the love that He gives unconditionally.

He also quoted from John 15:14 “Lord is our friend if we do what he commands us to do.” People tend to do what they want instead of what the Lord wants them to do. For example in Genesis, the Lord said let us make man and woman in our own image where God created one man and one woman unlike these days where LGBTQ is eating up the world. Men acting as women and women acting as men.

The Venerable told students not to go away from God’s love and intention for their lives, otherwise, be proud of that they are then they’ll be able to fight the devil and not to engage in negative behaviors like drugs among others. He said “It is not yet late to change your behaviors.” He finally concluded by telling the students to work hard and go well so that other people can come in and get the knowledge they have acquired as well.
